IN 1999, a teenager by the name Matt Fugitive, signed up for the Lycos Talk Radio Project and began a show called The Absurd News Show, which after about a week of decent raitings, became The Everything Sux Show. Matt’s first co-host was Steve Frost, a young lad in Long Island. Frost got the job when he called into the show when Matt was holding auditions for a co-host. In 2000, Lycos sold there talk show technology to Alternacast.com and that quickly became the shows new home for 2 1/2 years.
Durring that time, the shows raitings we’re thorugh the roof. the show made it to the #1 spot several times and had close to 100 listners everynight. I know there not big numbers but hosting a shw online was still in it’s infancy at the time. The show ended up having several co-hosts such as Krys, Bacon Man, Tazz, The Scrub, Billy Bob, and others. They we’re known as the New York Crew, even though most of them we’re not from New York.
The show was setup in New York, bouncing from Monroe, Highland Mills, Middletown, and Monticello. In October of 2002, the show moved to Spokane, Washington.
In July of 2003, Alternacast.com shut down there doors and that technology was lost for good. The Everything Sux Show was no more. Frost went on to do other things and Matt lost contact with all the other co-hosts shortly after. Around that time, Gregg “The Scrub” moved to Spokane and shacked up with Matt. Durring that time Matt and Gregg tried to get the show back on the air via other means, but all other means we’re not as good as Alternacast was. The show was indefinitely shelved till further notice.
In 2007, Matt was seen online promoting the rebirth of the Everything Sux Show using Skype’s Skypcast Technology.. but once again that just wasn’t good enough so the show was shelved again.
This brings us to 2008. In January, Matt was doing some research when he stumbled across a somewhat newer technology called BroadWave. Using the combined efforts of BroadWave to stream the show, and Skype to take called and have the co-host connect to the show, this seemed the optimal means of finally getting the show back online.
Matt now has a new co-host, Andy Drainz and hopes to be able to find more co-host within due time.
The Everything Sux Show will be back. In due time, it will be back.
